A healthy outside starts with a healthy inside

Conditions that shape mood and behavior, such as anxiety and depression, affect more people than you might think. Among U.S. adults, these conditions are more common than diabetes.1, 2 They’re also more common than cancer or heart attacks.3, 4

Get back to being you

Think of a dozen people you know. On average, at least two of them are living with a mental health condition, such as depression or anxiety.5 These conditions aren't personal faults. They are treatable disorders that can affect how people think, feel and act. And they can get worse if ignored. To learn more, simply click on the links below to:

Anxiety Disorders

Anxiety is a feeling of uneasiness or fear. Everyone feels anxiety sometimes. But in some people, anxiety becomes so powerful that it affects their relationships, work and home life.

In any given year, about 18 percent of U.S. adults will have an anxiety disorder. But less than half will get proper treatment.1

There are many types of anxiety disorders. Some of the more common ones are:

  • Generalized anxiety disorder
  • Obsessive-compulsive disorder
  • Panic disorder
  • Post-traumatic stress disorder
  • Social anxiety disorder

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a common condition. While it primarily affects children and teenagers, it can continue into adulthood.

Children with ADHD have problems paying attention or concentrating. They may have a hard time following directions and can get easily bored with tasks. The behaviors associated with ADHD can make it hard for children to function at school.

Autism spectrum disorder

Autism is one of a group of disorders that fall under the term “autism spectrum disorder.” Other autism spectrum disorders include Asperger’s syndrome, Rett syndrome and pervasive developmental disorder. Symptoms are related to social problems, communication problems or repetitive behaviors. The severity of the symptoms will be different in each person.

Current estimates are that 1 child in 68 has some type of autism spectrum disorder. It can be diagnosed in children as young as 18 months. Boys are 4 times as likely as girls to receive a diagnosis.*

Early intervention is important.

Eating disorders

A person who's overly concerned with their weight and body image can quickly lose sight of their true worth and value. An obsession with weight or food can hurt your health and self-image and even be life threatening. It's important to get help for even a mild eating disorder.
